The headline motor power rating is 22 kW under AC-3 at 400 V — this is the rating that governs switching of standard squirrel-cage motors during starting and running. For resistive loads (AC-1), the switching frequency reaches 1 000 cycles per hour, while AC-3 allows 800 cycles per hour, reflecting the higher electrical stress of motor inrush currents. Auxiliary contact ratings are provided across a range of control voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. These cover typical PLC output or relay interface circuits. The main power terminals accept solid conductors up to 4 mm² (2x) and stranded conductors up to 25 mm² (2x), which covers most motor feeder cables up to the 22 kW range.
The coil operates reliably between 0.8 and 1.1 times rated voltage at 50 Hz, and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz, providing a reasonable tolerance for supply fluctuations.
Dimensions are 112 mm height, 55 mm width, and 164 mm depth. The depth is the critical dimension for enclosure depth selection — ensure at least 170 mm clear depth behind the mounting plate for wiring and arc clearance. The S2 frame size is a common Siemens footprint, so auxiliary contact blocks and overload relays from the SIRIUS family will mount directly without adapters.
