SIRIUS 3RT1036-1AH00 — Power Contactor, Size S2
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1036-1AH00 is a size S2 power contactor for switching motor loads in control panels. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit handle stranded conductors up to 2x 25 mm². The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, so it drops into standard panel layouts without adapter plates. Rated for AC-2 duty at 22 kW and AC-4 at 41 A, both at 400 V. That AC-4 rating is the one that matters for reversing or inching applications where the contactor makes and breaks motor current under load — the AC-3 rating is higher but AC-4 is the harder duty cycle. At 500 V the motor power rating hits 30 kW; at 690 V it drops to 11.4 kW, reflecting the derating at elevated voltage. For DC switching, the contactor is rated 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. Those are resistive-load figures; inductive DC loads need additional margin or arc-suppression. The enclosure is rated IP20 on the front, IP00 at the terminals — meaning the wiring zone is exposed and must be inside a panel or enclosure. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution) is specified, so the contactor is suited for industrial environments where condensation or light dust is present. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The storage limit governs handling and shipping, not running.
Integration Notes
Width is 55 mm, height 112 mm, depth 115 mm. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so multiple contactors can be ganged without spacing gaps — useful when packing a row on the DIN rail. Solid conductors: accepts 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). Stranded: 2x (0.75 to 25 mm²). The main circuit terminals are screw-type; torque settings follow standard Siemens SIRIUS practice. Mechanical switching frequency varies by duty: AC-1 at 1000 cycles/h, AC-3 at 800 cycles/h, AC-4 at 300 cycles/h. The AC-4 limit is the binding one for frequent reversing or jogging applications. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms; operate time at AC is 7 to 20 ms. The voltage tolerance at 50 Hz is 0.8 to 1.1 times the rated control supply voltage.
