What it is and where it fits
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1036-1AK60-0UA0 is a size S2 power contactor rated for switching motor loads in control panels. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022, and accepts screw-type terminals for the main current circuit. The front face carries an IP20 rating; the terminal area is IP00, which is typical for panel-mount contactors where the enclosure provides the outer seal.
Key ratings and what they mean for fit
At AC-3 duty (standard motor switching), the contactor is rated for 30 kW at 500 V and 11.4 kW at 690 V. The AC-3 rating is the one that governs real motor loads — it tells you the contactor can make and break a running motor without welding the contacts. At AC-1 (resistive loads) the maximum operating rate is 1,000 cycles per hour; at AC-3 it drops to 800 cycles per hour, and at AC-4 (plugging/inching) to 300 cycles per hour. These rates matter if the contactor cycles frequently in a process line. The coil operates at 50/60 Hz with a voltage tolerance of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated value. Rated control supply voltages include 110 V at 50 Hz and 120 V at 60 Hz. The contactor is rated for pollution degree 3, meaning it's suited for industrial environments with conductive or dry non-conductive pollution — typical for panels not in a clean room. Wire termination accepts solid conductors from 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) up to max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²), and stranded from 2x (0.75 to 25 mm²). That covers most panel wiring up to 25 mm² stranded for the main power circuit. The auxiliary contacts are rated 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V.
Mounting and integration
Side-by-side mounting is supported, which saves rail space in dense panels. Dimensions are 55 mm wide, 112 mm high, and 115 mm deep — standard for the SIRIUS S2 footprint. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
