SIRIUS Size S2 power contactor — 22 kW AC-2 at 400 V
The Siemens 3RT1036-1AL20-ZX95 is a SIRIUS Size S2 power contactor rated 22 kW in AC-2 duty at 400 V, and 30 kW at 500 V. The 230 V 50/60 Hz coil operates within 0.8–1.1 × Us at 50 Hz and 0.85–1.1 × Us at 60 Hz. Main circuit connections use screw-type terminals; the front face carries an IP20 rating while the terminal area is IP00. Pollution degree 3 suits industrial environments with conductive contamination.
Mounting and integration — DIN rail, side-by-side, Size S2
Fastens via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Size S2 footprint — 112 mm high, 55 mm wide, 115 mm deep. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so multiple contactors pack tightly on the rail without mandatory spacing gaps. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C; storage range -55 to +80 °C.
Wiring capacity — screw terminals, solid and stranded
Main circuit screw terminals accept stranded conductors 2× (0.75 … 25 mm²) and solid or stranded 2× (0.75 … 16 mm²). Auxiliary/control circuit terminals accept solid 2× (0.5 … 1.5 mm²), 2× (0.75 … 2.5 mm²), max. 2× (0.75 … 4 mm²). Mechanical life is rated 10 million operations typical.
Switching frequency and auxiliary contact ratings
Maximum switching frequency depends on duty: AC-1 at 1 000 1/h, AC-2 at 400 1/h, AC-3 at 800 1/h, AC-4 at 300 1/h (–). Arcing time spans 10–15 ms; switching time 7–20 ms. Auxiliary contact ratings: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V.
