AC-2 duty involves higher switching frequency and longer arcing times than AC-3, so the contactor's arcing time of 10...15 ms and operating time of 7...20 ms are built for that stress. For straight AC-3 motor starting, the 30 kW at 500 V rating gives headroom on a typical 480 V line — that's roughly a 40 hp motor at 480 V. The maximum switching frequency of 800 cycles per hour in AC-3 means it handles frequent start-stop cycles on a packaging line without overheating. Auxiliary contact ratings: 10 A at 24 V DC, 6 A at 230 V AC, 3 A at 400 V AC.
