What this contactor is and where it fits
The 3RT1036-1AP05 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, rated for motor loads up to 30 kW at 500 V and 11.4 kW at 690 V. It handles AC-2 duty at 22 kW and AC-4 at 41 A, both at 400 V — so it's suited for slip-ring motors or reversing applications where the switching cycle sees full load current. The screw-type terminals on the main circuit take solid wire up to 2x 4 mm² or stranded up to 2x 25 mm², which covers most motor feeds in a standard control panel.
Mounting and integration into the panel
It fastens with screws or snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, and side-by-side mounting is allowed — no gap needed between contactors, which saves rail space in a dense panel. The 65 mm width and 112 mm height fit a standard enclosure layout, and the IP20 front means it's safe for open-panel wiring as long as the live terminals are guarded.
