What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1036-1AR00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S2 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022 via screw or snap-on fastening, and the front face carries an IP20 rating for finger-safe access inside an enclosure. The main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting stranded conductors up to 2x 25 mm².
Key ratings and what they mean for your BOM
This contactor is rated for 22 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motor starting), and 41 A at 400 V in AC-4 duty (plugging/inching). Those are the ratings that govern real motor-switching life — AC-1 resistive ratings are higher but don't reflect the arc stress of inductive motor loads. For a 500 V line, it delivers 30 kW; at 690 V, 11.4 kW. The auxiliary contacts handle 10 A at 24 V DC, 6 A at 230 V AC, and 3 A at 400 V AC — enough for a typical PLC input or relay coil.
