What it is and what it handles
The Siemens 3RT1036-3AH00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in Size S2, built for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It carries a 22 kW rating at 400 V under AC-2 duty (slip-ring motors, reversing starts) and 41 A at 400 V under AC-4 duty (plugging, inching). The screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept stranded wire up to 2x 25 mm², so it lands comfortably on 16 mm² motor feeds at 40 °C ambient.
Mounting and environment
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so you can pack multiple contactors across a panel without extra spacing. The front face carries IP20 protection — fine for enclosed panels where fingers won't reach live parts; the terminal area is IP00, meaning the wiring zone is open and must be inside a cabinet. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C, storage from -55 to +80 °C, so it survives hot control rooms and cold warehouses alike.
