What it is and where it lands
The Siemens 3RT1036-3AR60 is a SIRIUS S2 power contactor — screw-type main terminals, 55 mm wide, sized for motor loads up to 30 kW at 500 V and 22 kW under AC-2 duty at 400 V. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 and can be mounted side-by-side without derating, which keeps panel width tight.
What the ratings mean for fit
The 30 kW at 500 V figure governs motor switching under AC-3 duty (squirrel-cage motors, normal starting). The 22 kW AC-2 rating at 400 V covers slip-ring motor or high-inertia starts where the contactor makes and breaks under load more often. Auxiliary contact ratings span 10 A at 24 V down to 0.3 A at 220 V — enough for PLC inputs or relay coils in the control circuit.
Mounting and wiring
Screw terminals accept solid conductors 2x (0.25…2.5 mm²) and stranded up to 2x (0.75…25 mm²). The front face carries IP20 protection; the terminal area is IP00 — standard for panel-mount contactors where the enclosure provides the outer seal.
