What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1036-3AV00 is a size S2 power contactor, part of the modular SIRIUS family, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It is rated for a rated insulation voltage of 400 V at 50 Hz, and carries AC-2 motor ratings of 22 kW at 400 V and AC-4 ratings of 41 A at 400 V, making it suitable for reversing or inching duty on three-phase induction motors up to that power class. The contactor uses screw-type terminals on the main current circuit and accepts solid conductors up to 2x 2.5 mm² and stranded conductors up to 2x 25 mm², giving good flexibility for panel wiring with common motor cable sizes.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. The 55 mm width and 115 mm depth fit standard panel layouts; side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating for thermal accumulation in still air. The enclosure front carries IP20 protection, while the terminal area is IP00 — expect to install within a cabinet that provides the final environmental seal. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C.
