Integrator's note
The 3RT1044-1BB40 is a SIRIUS power contactor, size S3, with a 24 VDC coil. Rated for AC-3 motor switching at 37 kW / 500 V and 18.6 kW / 690 V. Screw-type terminals accept solid conductors up to 2x 4 mm² and stranded up to 2x 50 mm². Mounts on 35 mm or 75 mm DIN rail; side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating for the stated AC-3 duty cycle of 1000 operations per hour.
Coil and switching performance
Coil pick-up is guaranteed at 80 % of rated voltage (19.2 VDC); drop-out occurs at 110 % (26.4 VDC). Arcing time on DC switching is 14...20 ms; on AC it is 10...15 ms. The contactor is rated for pollution degree 3, so it is suitable for industrial environments where conductive dust or condensation may be present. Mechanical life is 10 million operations.
