The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1046-3AF06 is an S3-size power contactor rated for motor switching at 55 kW at 400 V in AC-3 duty, and 25.4 kW at 690 V. For heavy jogging or plugging duty (AC-4), it's rated to break 80 A at 400 V, so it survives the high-stress reversals on a crane or conveyor that cycles hard.
Dimensions are 146 mm high, 90 mm wide, 139 mm deep — that depth matters when you're laying out a gland plate or a shallow enclosure; the 139 mm leaves room for wiring clearance behind the panel door.
Termination and Wiring
Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting solid conductors 2x (0.25...2.5 mm²) and stranded 2x (10...50 mm²). The stranded range covers the typical motor feeder cable for a 55 kW load — you'll land a 25 or 35 mm² cable on the line and load side. The smaller solid range handles the control wiring for the coil and auxiliaries. IP20 on the front with the cover installed; the terminal area itself is IP00, so keep the cover on during operation.
