SIRIUS S3 power contactor for motor switching up to 55 kW
The Siemens 3RT1046-3AK60-1AA0 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S3 frame size, rated for motor switching up to 55 kW at 500 V AC-3 and 25.4 kW at 690 V AC-3. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm or 75 mm standard mounting rail, fitting into a 70 mm wide DIN footprint with a depth of 139 mm and height of 146 mm. The main circuit uses screw-type terminals accepting solid conductors from 0.25 to 2.5 mm² (2x) and stranded conductors from 10 to 50 mm² (2x).
Duty cycles and thermal limits
Maximum switching rates: 900 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive), 850/h at AC-3 (motor starting), 350/h at AC-2, and 250/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). Auxiliary contact ratings: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V — covering control-circuit voltages across global standards.
