SIRIUS Size S6 Power Contactor, 42-48 V Coil
Rated operating current at 24 V is 10 A; at 48 V it is 2 A; at 110 V it is 1 A; at 220 V it is 0.3 A — these are the auxiliary contact ratings, not the main pole current. The main power circuit accepts stranded conductors from 16 to 70 mm², sized for the S6 frame's full load range.
For BOM freeze or PCN watch, the SIRIUS series has a long production track record; Siemens typically provides 12-18 months notice before any phase-out.
The contactor mounts via screw fixing to a vertical panel surface. Dimensions are 172 mm height, 120 mm width, 170 mm depth — allow the specified clearances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the side, and 20 mm forwards for arc venting and heat dissipation. Power terminals accept stranded 16-70 mm² conductors. Auxiliary/control terminals accept solid or stranded 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75-4 mm²). The auxiliary switch is included as standard. Mechanical switching times: arcing time 10-15 ms, closing time at AC/DC 40-60 ms. Maximum operating frequency varies by duty: AC-1 at 800 cycles/hour, AC-3 at 1000 cycles/hour, AC-4 at 130 cycles/hour.
