Integrator's Spec Recap
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1054-2AV36 is a size S6 power contactor carrying a 380-420 V AC coil. The coil terminals are spring-type, accepting 2x (0.25-2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, while the main power circuit accepts 25-120 mm² stranded cable for the load side. Rated for AC-3 switching at up to 1000 operating cycles per hour, this contactor is sized for motor loads in a panel. The AC-4 rating drops to 130 cycles/h, reflecting the heavier electrical wear of inching or plugging duty. Mounting is screw-fixed to a vertical surface, rotatable ±90° and tiltable ±22.5° front-to-back. The envelope measures 172 mm high × 120 mm wide × 170 mm deep, with 10 mm clearance required on all sides for arc dissipation.
Duty Cycle & Mechanical Life
Mechanical life is rated at 10,000,000 typical operations. Electrical life depends on the utilization category: AC-1 (resistive) allows 800 cycles/h, AC-2 (slip-ring motors) 400 cycles/h, AC-3 (squirrel-cage motors) 1,000 cycles/h, and AC-4 (inching/plugging) 130 cycles/h. The AC-3e rating matches the AC-3 figure at 1,000 cycles/h. Arcing time is 10-15 ms, and the contactor operates with a 40-60 ms closing time on both AC and DC supply to the coil.
Auxiliary Contact & Environmental Range
An auxiliary switch is integrated. Its rated breaking capacity at 24 V is 10 A, dropping to 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V — typical for control-circuit isolation in a 24 VDC PLC environment. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range extends from -55 to +80 °C. The contactor is rated for a vertical mounting surface, rotatable ±90° and tiltable ±22.5° front-to-back, suiting most standard panel layouts.
