SIRIUS S6 power contactor for high-current motor switching
It accepts power-circuit conductors from 25 mm² up to 120 mm² stranded, and the magnet coil terminates on screw-type terminals — no special crimp tooling needed in the van. The contactor measures 172 mm high by 120 mm wide by 170 mm deep, mounts via screw fixing, and the mounting position allows vertical surface mounting with ±90° rotation or ±22.5° tilt forward/back — useful when shoehorning it into a crowded panel section. It carries an auxiliary switch and arcing time is 10-15 ms; operate times at both AC and DC are 40-60 ms.
Switching rates and duty cycles
Maximum switching rates vary by duty class: AC-1 (resistive) at 800 ops/h, AC-2 at 400 ops/h, AC-3 and AC-3e at 1,000 ops/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) at 130 ops/h. For a motor-switching application like a conveyor or pump, the AC-3/AC-3e rating is the one that governs — 1,000 operations per hour means it can cycle every 3.6 seconds continuously without exceeding thermal limits.
Power circuit accepts stranded cable 25-120 mm². The coil and auxiliary connections handle solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75-4 mm²). Four mounting holes, 9 mm diameter, one per corner.
