Size S6 power contactor with screw fixing
The 3RT1054-6NP36: The coil is rated 200–277 V AC, terminated with screw-type terminals. That voltage range covers common 208/240/277 V control circuits without a separate transformer tap.
Power terminals accept 25–120 mm² stranded copper — that's 4 AWG down to 250 kcmil range, enough for a 200+ A motor circuit. Wires up clean with ring or fork lugs on the power side. A built-in auxiliary switch is included.
Clearance and operating envelope
Physical dimensions: 172 mm high, 120 mm wide, 170 mm deep. Minimum clearance around the contactor: 10 mm upward, downward, and to the sides; 20 mm forward. That keeps arc flash and heat dissipation within safe bounds in a packed enclosure.
Duty cycle and mechanical life
Switching frequency varies by duty class: AC-1 (resistive) 800 ops/h, AC-2 400 ops/h, AC-3 (motor start/run) 1000 ops/h, AC-4 (plugging/inching) 130 ops/h. For most motor applications, the AC-3 ceiling of 1000 ops/h is the number to design to. The overload release full-scale factor is 1.1, meaning the thermal overload setting can be adjusted up to 110% of the full-scale value for service factor motors.
