Power contactor for motor and resistive loads
The Siemens 3RT1054-6QF35 is a SIRIUS power contactor in Size S6, rated for 160 A at 24 V in AC-1 duty — that's the resistive load curve, so it handles heater banks and lighting contactor panels as well as motor switching. The coil pulls 96... 127 V AC/DC (pickup at 0.8 x rated, dropout below that), and the screw-type terminals on the magnet coil accept solid conductors from 2x 0.5 mm² up to max 2x 4 mm². Main power terminals take stranded 25... 120 mm² — sized for the full 160 A path without parallel runs.
Mounting and clearances
Mounts by screw fixing (no DIN-rail clip on this frame). The enclosure is 172 mm high × 140 mm wide × 170 mm deep. Clearance around the contactor: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 20 mm forwards, 10 mm at the side. The mounting position allows vertical surface mount with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt front/back. IP00 on the terminals; IP20 on the front with the cover or box terminal fitted — so it needs a clean, dry enclosure, not a washdown zone.
Switching performance and auxiliary contacts
