The coil connection uses spring-type terminals, while the main power circuit accepts stranded conductors up to 120 mm² — sized for the higher current draw of a Size S6 frame.
The 3RT1056-2AS36 is rated for 800 switching operations per hour in AC-1 (resistive) duty, 750 ops/h in AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor start/run), and 300 ops/h in AC-2 (slip-ring motor). The AC-4 rating — plugging and inching — drops to 130 ops/h.
Auxiliary contact capacity
An auxiliary switch is built in. Its rated breaking capacity at 24 V is 10 A, dropping to 2 A at 48 V, 60 V, and 110 V. That 10 A at 24 VDC is enough to drive a PLC input module or a small relay coil directly; at higher control voltages the current must be derated. The auxiliary contacts share the same coil suppression circuit — verify polarity if driving an inductive load like a DC solenoid valve.
Screw fixing through a 9 mm hole. The main circuit accepts stranded 25 to 120 mm²; the coil and auxiliary circuit take solid or stranded 0.25 to 2.5 mm² (two conductors per terminal). Minimum clearance: 10 mm downwards, upwards, and to the side; 20 mm forwards.
