What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1056-6AP36-0UA0 is a Size S6 power contactor, part of the SIRIUS product brand, designed for switching motor loads and other inductive loads in industrial control panels. It is fitted with a 220-240 V AC coil and uses screw-type terminals for the magnet coil connection. The main circuit accepts stranded conductors from 25 to 120 mm², so it is sized for higher-current branch circuits.
Mounting and integration
Mounting is by screw fixing through a single 9 mm diameter hole. The mounting position allows a vertical mounting surface with +/-90° rotation and +/-22.5° tilt forward and back, which gives flexibility in panel layout. Required clearances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the side, and 20 mm forwards. The enclosure dimensions are 172 mm high by 120 mm wide by 170 mm deep.
Switching performance and ratings
The contactor is rated for AC switching duty with operating times of 40 to 60 ms on both AC and DC control. Arcing time is specified at 10 to 15 ms. Maximum switching frequencies vary by duty class: 800 operations per hour for AC-1 (resistive), 300 for AC-2, 750 for AC-3 (standard motor starting), 130 for AC-4 (inching/plugging), and 750 for AC-3e. The mechanical service life is a typical 10,000,000 operations. The auxiliary switch is present and rated for 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V.
