The Siemens 3RT1056-6PP35 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S6 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It carries a 200-277 V AC coil with screw-type terminals, and the main power circuit accepts stranded conductors from 25 to 120 mm² — sized for the larger motor feeds you'd expect on an S6 frame. Mounting position is flexible: the contactor mounts on a vertical surface and can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back, which helps when you're squeezing it into a crowded panel. Clearance requirements are 10 mm upwards, 20 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 10 mm at the side — that's the breathing room for arc quenching and heat dissipation. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C. The coil pickup threshold is 0.8 of rated voltage, and the full-scale holding factor is 1.1 — standard for this class of contactor.
Wiring & Auxiliary Contacts
The auxiliary contact block is present (auxiliary switch: yes), wired via screw-type terminals on the magnet coil. The coil terminals accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75-4 mm²). The main power terminals take stranded 25-120 mm² through a single 9 mm hole with screw fixing.
Switching Performance
Pick-up and drop-out times are 80-90 ms for both AC and DC coil supplies. Arcing time runs 10-15 ms. Maximum switching rates vary by duty: 800 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 at AC-3 (motor starting), 300 at AC-2 (slip-ring motors), and 130 at AC-4 (plugging/reversing). The AC-3e rating also lists 750 cycles/hour.
