What the size S10 frame means for panel fit
This is a size S10 contactor — the largest frame in the SIRIUS S series. Physical dimensions are 210 mm height, 145 mm width, and 202 mm depth. Mounting is by screw fixing, not DIN rail snap-on. These are minimums — for high-current AC-3 switching at 500 ops/h, add another 10 mm for thermal dissipation. Main power terminals accept stranded wire from 70 mm² up to 240 mm². That's a generous auxiliary terminal range — it can take two 2.5 mm² conductors per clamp, useful for daisy-chaining control voltage across multiple contactors in a motor control center.
Coil and auxiliary contact ratings
The magnet coil uses screw-type terminals — not cage clamps or spring terminals. Rated coil voltage is 23...26 V, with an initial pickup factor of 0.8 (meaning it will pull in reliably at 80% of rated voltage, about 18.4 V minimum). These are the auxiliary contact ratings, not the main pole ratings. An auxiliary switch is included as standard — no separate add-on block needed for basic signaling. Opening delay is 40...80 ms for both AC and DC coil supplies.
Maximum switching rates: 750 ops/h in AC-1 (resistive load), 250 ops/h in AC-2 (slip-ring motors), 500 ops/h in AC-3 (squirrel-cage motors), and 130 ops/h in AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating is also 500 ops/h. For a conveyor application running at 500 ops/h, the contactor will hit its mechanical life of 10 million operations in about 20,000 hours of continuous cycling — plan spares accordingly. The full-scale overload factor is 1.1 — meaning the contactor can handle 10% over its rated current for short durations, typical for motor starting inrush.
