Coil and Switching Ratings
The 3RT1065-6AB36-3PA0: The coil operates on a rated value of 23-26 VDC, with a pick-up voltage factor of 0.8 and a drop-out factor of 1.1. This means the contactor pulls in reliably at 80% of nominal and drops out at 110% of nominal, giving a clean margin for control voltage sag. Switching current ratings are specified per voltage: 10 A at 24 V rated value, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V rated value. These are the maximum continuous currents the auxiliary contacts can make and break at those DC voltage levels.
Duty Cycle and Operating Rates
Maximum switching rates vary by duty class: 800 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive loads), 250 at AC-2 (slip-ring motors), 500 at AC-3 (squirrel-cage motors — starting only), 130 at AC-4 (plugging/inching), and 500 at AC-3e (enhanced AC-3). The AC-3 rate of 500 ops/h is the one most panel builders use for standard motor starting. Operating times are 40-80 ms on both AC and DC, with an arcing time of 10-15 ms.
The contactor is screw-fixed through a single 11 mm hole. These are the free-air spacing requirements for arc quenching and heat dissipation. Physical dimensions: 210 mm height, 145 mm width, 202 mm depth. The S10 frame is a substantial panel-mount unit — plan for the 202 mm depth behind the panel door.
Terminal Wiring
Main power terminals accept stranded cable from 70 to 240 mm² — sized for the full S10 current rating. Coil and auxiliary terminals accept solid wire: 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75-4 mm²). The coil connection uses screw-type terminals, not spring-cage.
