Physical fit and mounting — panel integration
The 3RT1066-2AP36: Dimensions are 210 mm high, 145 mm wide, and 202 mm deep — a sizable frame (S10) that needs a clear backpanel area. Fastening is by screw fixing through an 11 mm diameter mounting hole. Plan the gland plate and busbar routing accordingly — the spring terminals pull straight in, no lug torque wrench needed.
The contactor carries switching frequency limits per duty class: 750 operations/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 250/h at AC-2 (slip-ring motors), 500/h at AC-3 (squirrel-cage motors — the standard motor-switching duty), and 130/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating is also 500/h. These are the maximum mechanical switching rates; the thermal load of the load current will dictate the practical rate. For a typical conveyor motor on AC-3 duty, 500 ops/h is generous — but if you're doing frequent reversing (AC-4), the 130/h limit is the one that governs.
Auxiliary contacts and environmental range
An auxiliary switch block is included. Its contact ratings vary with voltage: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V — typical for control-circuit signalling. The coil pickup threshold is 0.8 x rated voltage (176 V minimum for a 220 V coil), dropout at 0.1 x rated voltage (22 V). Arcing time is 10-15 ms; total opening time (AC and DC) is 40-80 ms.
