SIRIUS S10 power contactor — panel fit and duty-cycle read
The 3RT1066-6AB36-3PA0: Main-circuit power wiring accepts stranded cable from 70 mm² up to 240 mm² — that is a heavy lug range, sized for the full S10 current rating. The coil connection uses screw-type terminals, with a rated control voltage of 23–26 V. Switching frequency varies by duty: AC-1 (resistive) allows up to 750 operations per hour, AC-3 (motor starting) 500 ops/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) drops to 130 ops/h. For a conveyor drive cycling every 30 seconds, the AC-3 ceiling of 500 ops/h leaves headroom; for a crane hoist with frequent reversals, stay within the AC-4 limit.
Mounting clearances and auxiliary contact provision
These are the free-air gaps for arc quenching and heat dissipation — stacking contactors closer than these voids the thermal rating. The unit includes an auxiliary switch (1 N/O + 1 N/C typical for the S10 frame), which saves an add-on block for basic status feedback.
Coil and switching timing
At 50 Hz and 60 Hz the power factor is 0.9. These numbers matter when sequencing contactors in a star-delta starter or interlocking two units — the 40 ms minimum pickup means the interlock delay must be set longer than that to avoid a weld-shoot-through.
Environmental limits
The storage range exceeds the operating range — that is the limit for handling and warehousing, not running. The rated operating current at 60 °C requires derating per the thermal curve; at 40 °C ambient the contactor can run at its full AC-3 rating.
