Duty Ratings and Switching Frequency
The contactor's switching frequency varies by duty class: 200 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive) and AC-3 (standard motor starting), 170 ops/h at AC-2 (slip-ring motor), and 130 ops/h at AC-4 (plugging/reversing). The AC-3e rating also allows 200 ops/h. These limits govern how often the contactor can be cycled without exceeding thermal rise — for a high-cycle application like a stamping press or indexing conveyor, the AC-4 ceiling of 130 ops/h is the binding constraint, not the AC-3 figure.
The contactor measures 160 mm wide, 225 mm deep, and 214 mm high — size S12 frame. Conductor cross-sections accepted range from 70 to 240 mm² stranded for main power, with auxiliary terminals accepting 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded.
