Sizing the coil and auxiliary contacts for the control circuit
The 3RT1076-6XB46-0LA2: The coil operating range spans 0.7 to 1.25 times the rated value — at 24 VDC nominal, pickup is guaranteed at 16.8 V and the coil must not see sustained overvoltage above 30 V. These are the DC-13 breaking limits — the same auxiliary contact used on a 24 VDC PLC output will handle the solenoid load without welding.
Switching frequency and duty-cycle limits
Maximum switching rates are duty-dependent: 500 operations per hour in AC-1 (resistive), 420 ops/h in AC-3 (motor starting), 170 ops/h in AC-2 (slip-ring motor), and 130 ops/h in AC-4 (plugging/inching). For DC loads, the ceiling is 250 ops/h in DC-1 and 200 ops/h in DC-3 or DC-5.
Physical fit and mounting constraints
The contactor measures 225 mm deep, 160 mm wide, and 214 mm high. It mounts via screw fixing through two 11 mm diameter holes — no DIN-rail adapter on this variant, so plan for a backplate or sub-panel with clearance for the M10 or 3/8-inch bolts.
