Siemens 3RT1264-6AM36 — SIRIUS S10 Vacuum Contactor
Vacuum contactors are preferred for high-cycle, high-voltage applications because the sealed vacuum chamber extinguishes the arc without exposing contacts to air, giving longer electrical life than open-air contactors at equivalent ratings. The coil is rated at 200-220 V AC, with screw-type terminals for the magnet coil and a main circuit that accepts stranded conductors from 70 to 240 mm². Auxiliary switch is included on the contactor. Mechanical life is typical 10,000,000 operations. Switching frequency depends on duty class: up to 800 ops/h in AC-1 (resistive), 750 ops/h in AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting), and 250 ops/h in AC-4 (plugging/inching).
Fastening is screw fixing through a single 11 mm diameter hole. The contactor can be mounted on a vertical surface with ±22.5° rotation, or tilted forward/backward by the same angle; it can also stand on a horizontal mounting surface. Dimensions are 210 mm height, 145 mm width, 206 mm depth. The S10 frame size is one of the larger SIRIUS contactor footprints, sized for the 70-240 mm² cable range. The mounting position flexibility allows panel layout optimization in tight enclosures.
Terminal & Wiring
Auxiliary conductor connections accept solid or stranded wires: 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75-4 mm²). Main circuit stranded cable range is 70-240 mm². The contactor also carries an auxiliary switch as standard.
Switching Performance
Arcing time is 10-15 ms. Switching times at AC and DC are both 40-80 ms. The power factor at 50 Hz and 60 Hz is 0.9. Pick-up voltage initial value is 0.8 of rated, with full-scale value 1.1.
