Vacuum interrupters mean the arc is contained and quenched inside a sealed chamber, giving this contactor a mechanical life of 10,000,000 operations typical and arcing times of 10 to 15 ms. The 380 to 420 V AC coil draws from a standard three-phase control transformer; the magnet coil terminates at screw-type terminals for secure field wiring. Rated switching frequencies tell you what duty cycle to expect: 800 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 at AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor start/run), 300 at AC-2 (slip-ring motor), and 250 at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating of 750 ops/h mirrors the AC-3 figure. A built-in auxiliary switch handles 10 A at 24 V rated value, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V — enough for a PLC input or a holding-circuit interlock.
The contactor is screw-fixed to the panel backplate — no DIN-rail snap-on. A single 11 mm diameter hole is the mounting pattern. The S10 frame measures 210 mm high, 145 mm wide, and 206 mm deep. Clearance around the unit: 10 mm upwards, downwards, and to the sides; 20 mm forwards for arc-chamber venting. Main power wiring accepts stranded cable from 70 to 240 mm² — sized for the full motor current the S10 frame can handle. The auxiliary circuit uses smaller conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), with a maximum of 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²).
