Vacuum contactors use a sealed vacuum interrupter, which means no arc chute maintenance and a mechanical life typically exceeding 10 million operations — the S12 family is rated for 10,000,000 typical mechanical operations. The coil is wound for 380-420 VAC (50/60 Hz), with a pick-up threshold of 0.8 x rated value and a drop-out range of 0.1 to 0.7 x rated value. Auxiliary switch is included as standard, with contact ratings of 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V — enough for direct PLC input or relay coil drive without an interposing relay.
Switching duty and thermal capacity
This contactor is rated for AC-1 (resistive), AC-2 (slip-ring motor), AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor), and AC-4 (inching/plugging) duty classes. Maximum switching rates: 700 ops/h in AC-1, 250 ops/h in AC-2, 750 ops/h in AC-3, 250 ops/h in AC-4, and 750 ops/h in AC-3e.
Mounting, wiring, and environment
Mounting is by screw fixing (four holes, 11 mm diameter) with a versatile orientation: ±22.5° rotation on a vertical surface, forward/backward tilt of ±22.5°, or standing on a horizontal surface. Power cable termination accepts stranded conductors from 70 to 240 mm². The coil terminals are screw-type, accepting 2x (0.5-1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75-2.5 mm²), or max. 2x (0.75-4 mm²) solid or stranded wire.
