Coil and control circuit specifics
The DC coil pulls a steady 3.3 W, both on closing and holding — no inrush spike to size a power supply around. Pick-up threshold is 0.85 x rated voltage (roughly 20.4 V), drop-out at 0.1 x rated (2.4 V). The auxiliary contact side switches 10 A at 24 V (AC-12), 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. If you're driving PLC outputs or small relays off the aux contacts, those numbers tell you the contact rating, not the coil draw.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is allowed with no derating gap — the S00 frame dissipates well enough that you can pack them tight. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial atmospheres with conductive dust or condensation, not just clean control-room air. IP20 on the front and terminals — finger-safe, but not washdown-rated.
Protection and coordination
For type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor on a short circuit), the spec calls for a gL/gG fuse rated at 20 A. For type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after a fault), a 35 A gL/gG fuse is the limit. That's the selectivity headroom you need for the panel SCCR calculation — the fuse clears the fault before the contactor welds shut.
Environmental compliance
RoHS compliance date is listed as July 1, 2006 — covers the original EU RoHS directive. REACH and other substance restrictions are handled under Siemens' standard SIRIUS declaration. The reference code per IEC 81346-2 is Q, which maps to power switching equipment in a panel schematic.
