SIRIUS S2 Power Contactor — 3RT1336-1AN60
The Siemens 3RT1336-1AN60 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S2 frame size, built for motor switching in industrial control panels. Its AC-3 rating delivers 23 kW at 230 V, 60 °C, and the AC-2 rating holds 11 kW at 400 V — the first number governs the motor load you can switch under full locked-rotor current; the second covers wound-rotor or slip-ring duty where the current stays closer to running level. Coil is wound for 200 V at 50 Hz or 200–220 V at 60 Hz, with an operating range of 0.8–1.1 times rated voltage at 50 Hz, 0.85–1.1 at 60 Hz. That spread means the coil holds in during a moderate brownout but drops out before the motor stalls from undervoltage. Mounting is screw-and-snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, with side-by-side mounting permitted — no derating gap required between contactors on the same rail, provided the ambient stays within the -25 to +60 °C operating range. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution, typical for industrial enclosures) and insulation voltage rated 690 V mean this contactor is at home in 400 V lineups with headroom for 690 V networks.
Termination and Wiring
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Solid wire accepted as 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75–4 mm²). Stranded conductors go up to 2x (0.75–25 mm²). The minimum permissible cross-section at both 40 °C and 60 °C is 16 mm² — that is the smallest wire that carries the rated current without exceeding the terminal temperature rise. Front face carries IP20 finger protection; the terminal area is IP00, so live parts are exposed when the panel door is open.
