It carries a 48 V DC coil and is rated for 53 kW at 230 V at 60 °C, making it a fit for 230 V three-phase motor circuits in that power band. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, which helps when packing multiple contactors into a tight enclosure. The coil's DC holding power is 15 W, and the contactor achieves 10 million typical mechanical operations. For type 2 coordination, a 160 A gL/gG fuse is required on the line side.
DC switching capability
This contactor's DC switching ratings are defined across multiple voltage levels, which is critical when the load is a DC motor, brake coil, or solenoid rather than an AC motor. At 24 V DC it switches 10 A, at 60 V DC it switches 2 A, at 110 V DC it switches 1 A, at 220 V DC it switches 0.3 A, at 230 V DC it switches 6 A, and at 400 V DC it switches 3 A. These numbers govern the DC load break capability — don't exceed them even if the AC rating is higher.
The solid conductor range is 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) and 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), with a maximum of 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). Stranded conductors accept 2x (10 to 50 mm²). For AWG cables, the main contacts accept 2x (10 to 1/0). At 40 °C the minimum permissible cross-section is 50 mm²; at 60 °C it drops to 35 mm². Auxiliary and control circuits also use screw-type terminals with solid or stranded 2x (2.5 to 16 mm²).
The contactor measures 146 mm high, 93 mm wide, and 152 mm deep. The S3 frame size is a standard footprint in the SIRIUS range, so panel cutouts and busbar systems designed for this family will accept it without modification.
