What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1375-6AE36 is a SIRIUS contactor in size S12, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in industrial control panels. Its coil accepts 24–60 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, drawing 8.5 VA at either frequency, so it fits standard control transformers without oversizing. The contactor carries two normally-open and two normally-closed instantaneous auxiliary contacts, rated for switching up to 4 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 2 A at 690 V — covering most pilot-duty and small-load applications in a 400/690 V panel.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw fixing on a vertical surface; the enclosure can be rotated ±180° or tilted forward/backward ±30° at 0° rotation, giving flexibility in tight cabinets. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 20 mm forwards, 10 mm at the side — plan your DIN-rail or backplate layout accordingly. Dimensions are 225 mm high, 184 mm wide, 180 mm deep — a substantial footprint that fits standard S12 panel cutouts. Operating temperature range is -40 to +60 °C, storage -40 to +70 °C, so it handles unheated enclosures and warehouse extremes.
Wiring and auxiliary contacts
Coil terminals are screw-type, accepting 1x or 2x conductors from 1 to 4 mm² solid or stranded — standard for panel wiring without special ferrules. The auxiliary switch block is present and can accept up to two additional attachable contact blocks for expanding signal feedback. Pickup voltage threshold is 0.8 x rated (about 19.2 VAC minimum), dropout at 1.1 x rated (about 26.4 VAC maximum) — ensures reliable pull-in and avoids chatter on a sagging control bus. Operating times are 45–80 ms for both AC and DC coil types, consistent across the SIRIUS family.
