SIRIUS S6 power contactor — 220-240 V AC/DC coil, screw terminals
The Siemens 3RT1456-6AP36 is a size S6 SIRIUS contactor with a 220-240 V AC/DC magnet coil terminated at screw-type terminals. The main power circuit accepts stranded conductors from 25 mm² up to 120 mm², sized for heavy motor or resistive loads in a control panel.
The 220-240 V AC/DC coil covers standard European control voltages without needing a separate transformer tap. The S6 frame size and the 120 mm width dictate panel layout — it occupies a 172 mm tall by 120 mm wide footprint, 170 mm deep, with screw fixing to a vertical mounting surface. The contactor can be rotated ±90° or tilted ±22.5° front-to-back, which helps in tight enclosures. Auxiliary contact blocks are attachable (up to 4), with the built-in auxiliary switch rated 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — enough for PLC or relay logic feedback.
Mount the contactor on a vertical surface with screw fixing through a single 9 mm hole. The main power terminals accept stranded 25–120 mm²; auxiliary terminals accept solid or stranded 0.5–1.5 mm² (2 conductors per terminal), or up to 2.5 mm² (2 conductors) or 4 mm² (2 conductors max). Coil holding voltage is 0.8 x rated at 50 Hz, 0.8–1.1 x rated at 60 Hz.
