Integrator's first look
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1466-6SF36-3PA0 is a size S10 contactor — the largest frame in the SIRIUS modular contactor family, built for high-current motor switching in industrial control panels. Its coil accepts 96... 127 V AC/DC, so one part covers both control supply types without a separate rectifier or coil changeout. The screw-type magnet coil terminals match standard panel wiring practices; main power terminals accept stranded cable from 70 up to 240 mm², sized for the output of a 200+ A motor circuit. Mounting is via screw fixing through a single 11 mm hole, with the contactor body measuring 210 mm high by 145 mm wide by 202 mm deep. The mounting position allows vertical surface orientation with ±90° rotation and ±22.5° tilt forward/back, giving panel builders flexibility in tight enclosures. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm at the side, and 20 mm forwards for arc venting.
Panel integration checklist
Screw fixing through an 11 mm hole — plan for a single-point mount on a backplate or sub-panel, not DIN rail. The 145 mm width and 202 mm depth mean it occupies roughly the footprint of a 200 A frame breaker; leave the 20 mm forward clearance for arc gases. Main cable: 70... 240 mm² stranded — use a hydraulic crimper for lug termination; the terminal size matches standard two-hole or single-hole lug patterns for this current class. Auxiliary wiring: the screw-type coil terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 up to 4 mm² — standard 14-12 AWG control wire fits without adapters. The auxiliary switch is already attached, so no separate aux block purchase is needed for basic N/O or N/C feedback.
