What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1916-2EJ11 is a SIRIUS auxiliary switch with an adjustable ON-delay function — a timer block that clips onto a contactor or relay to delay the auxiliary contact closure after the coil picks up. The delay range is adjustable from 0.05 to 1 second, with a recovery time of 150 ms between cycles — meaning it can repeat the timing sequence about six times per second if the coil is cycled that fast. Contact ratings: 1 A at 24 V DC, 0.2 A at 125 V DC, 0.1 A at 250 V DC — these are the make/break limits for the auxiliary circuit, not the main contactor load.
Panel fit and mounting
Clip-on mounting snaps directly onto the front of a SIRIUS contactor or relay — no tools, no DIN rail space consumed beyond the base device's footprint. Dimensions: 45 mm wide, 38 mm high, 75 mm deep — the width matches the standard SIRIUS contactor width, so it doesn't overhang the base unit. Terminals are IP20 rated, and the mounting position is any orientation — useful when panel space forces a horizontal or inverted layout.
