It's the coil that pulls in and holds the contactor armature — if the contactor itself is fine but the coil is open or shorted, this is the swap part that keeps the panel running without replacing the whole contactor.
This part is marked as a phased-out product. The official successor is the SIRIUS 3RT2 series coil — same Size S2 footprint, same 24 V AC control voltage, but the newer platform. The screw-terminal pattern and mounting dimensions carry across, but verify the control-circuit wiring — the 3RT2 coil may use a different terminal layout.
The 0.8... 1.1 at 50 Hz figure is the operating voltage range as a factor of the rated 24 V — so the coil reliably picks up and holds between about 19.2 V and 26.4 V AC. Below that dropout threshold the contactor drops out, which matters if your control transformer is lightly loaded or you're running a long 24 V AC circuit with voltage drop. The screw terminal accepts the same wire sizes as the SIRIUS Size S2 contactor's control circuit, typically 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) solid or stranded with ferrule. Mounts directly onto the contactor's coil spigot; no DIN-rail space consumed.
