Overview
The Siemens 3RT1936-1CE00 is an RC surge suppressor designed for mounting onto contactors Size S2 and S3. It operates at 240...400 V AC and integrates RC elements for arc suppression. This product has been discontinued since 2019-01-10; the preferred successor is the SIRIUS 3RT2 series part 3RT2936-1CE00.
Function & operation
The RC element suppresses voltage spikes generated when the contactor coil de-energizes, protecting nearby electronics and extending contact life. It is rated for 240...400 V AC at 50 Hz and 400...240 V AC at 60 Hz — note the reversed voltage range for 60 Hz operation. The suppressor mounts directly onto the contactor, requiring no additional wiring space.
