Ratings and fit for the BOM line
The Siemens 3RT2015-1AP02-Z W97 is a 3-pole power contactor in the SIRIUS 3RT2 series, rated AC-3e/AC-3 at 7 A with a switching capacity of 3 kW at 400 V. The 230 V AC coil operates on 50/60 Hz. That AC-3 rating is the motor-switching current — the value that decides whether this contactor handles a given induction motor load without welding contacts on start-up. For a 3 kW motor at 400 V three-phase, this is the direct fit. The single NC auxiliary contact (1 NC) is built in, saving a slot that would otherwise need a separate auxiliary block.
Integration notes
Screw terminals accept standard power and control wiring — strip length and torque follow Siemens SIRIUS guidelines for the S00 frame. The 230 V AC coil draws its rated inrush and hold current from the control circuit; ensure the PLC output or relay driving it can handle the coil VA burden. The 1 NC auxiliary is a break-before-make mirror contact, typically wired into a safety circuit or status feedback loop. The multi-unit packaging (pack of 40 pieces) is the factory bulk format — each individual contactor is separately boxed within the master carton. If your BOM calls for a single unit, order one piece; the pack quantity is the shipping unit from the factory.
