What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT2015-1AV01 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, with a 24 V rated coil drawing 10 A at rated value. It's the smallest frame in the SIRIUS family — 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, 73 mm deep — built for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. That 73 mm depth is the dimension you'll clear in a shallow enclosure; at 45 mm wide it leaves room for a three-phase motor starter or a pair of auxiliary contact blocks on the same rail.
Switching duty and what the ratings mean
The AC-3 maximum switching rate of 750 operations per hour tells you this contactor is sized for motor starting duty — pumps, fans, conveyors — not for high-speed jogging or repetitive inching (that's AC-4 territory at 250 ops/h). The AC-1 resistive rating at 1 000 ops/h confirms it handles heater or lighting banks without derating the cycle. Arcing time sits between 10 and 15 ms at AC, which is typical for a size S00 contactor; the coil dropout threshold is the usual Siemens 24 VDC hold curve (drops out below about 18 V).
Terminal capacity and wiring
Screw-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², and you can double up: 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². That covers most panel wiring for a contactor this size — no need for ferrule adapters on the main power circuit. The auxiliary switch is built in (yes/no on the order code), so verify the specific variant if you need a NO/NC auxiliary block.
Mounting and clearances
Snap-on to 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with screw-fastening as the backup. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side. That 6 mm side gap is tight — you can stack contactors rail-to-rail without a spacer block. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, so it fits in a swing-panel or a back-panel layout without derating.
