The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2015-1AV02 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil and screw-type terminals for the main and auxiliary contacts. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, fitting into the compact S00 footprint (45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, 73 mm deep). The auxiliary switch is built in, so no separate add-on block is needed for basic feedback or interlocking.
Duty ratings and switching frequency
The contactor's maximum switching rate depends on the duty class: 1 000 operations per hour for AC-1 (resistive loads), 750 per hour for AC-2 and AC-3 (slip-ring and squirrel-cage motors), and 250 per hour for AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also caps at 750 per hour. These limits govern thermal buildup in the coil and contacts — exceeding them derates the contactor's life, not its instantaneous current. The auxiliary contact ratings span 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.14 A at 440 V. These are the make/break capacities for the built-in auxiliary switch — useful for PLC inputs or relay coils in the control circuit.
Mounting and wiring
The contactor accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 mm² up to 4 mm² per screw terminal, with options for two conductors per clamp (2x 0.5...1.5 mm², 2x 0.75...2.5 mm², or 2x 4 mm²). Minimum clearance distances around the unit: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm to the side. The mounting position is flexible — ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — which helps when fitting into tight panel layouts.
Environmental and mechanical endurance
Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +60 °C; storage range extends from -55 °C to +80 °C. Typical mechanical endurance is 30 million operations. Coil power consumption is 0.25 A at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz. Arcing time at AC is 4 to 15 ms, with a narrower band of 10 to 15 ms for the arcing time specifically.
