What it is and where it lands
The Siemens 3RT2015-1BJ82 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame. It's built for switching motor loads in control panels — the 24 VDC coil means it integrates directly into a 24 V control supply without a separate transformer or rectifier. The screw-type terminals on the magnet coil and main contacts take solid or stranded wire from 0.5 up to 4 mm², which covers most panel wiring for this frame size. Mounting is screw-and-snap-on onto standard 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, so it drops into any modern enclosure rail.
What the ratings mean for fit
The contactor is rated for AC-3 duty at 400 V at 3 A — that's the motor-switching current, which is the number that matters for sizing on a standard three-phase induction motor. The AC-3 rating governs the make/break of locked-rotor current, so a 3 A AC-3 contactor handles a motor drawing roughly 3 A at full load. The operating temperature range of -25 to +60 °C covers most indoor panel environments, including unventilated enclosures near process heat. The mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward, which helps when the rail is at an odd angle in a retrofit panel.
Panel integration notes
The Size S00 footprint is 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, and 73 mm deep — a compact envelope that leaves room for auxiliary contact blocks or overload relays on the same DIN rail. The auxiliary switch is present on this variant, so you get a feedback contact without adding a separate block. Clearance around the contactor: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the sides. That's tight enough for dense panel layouts, but watch the heat dissipation if you're packing multiple contactors side by side at full rated current.
