SIRIUS Size S00 Power Contactor with 24 VDC Coil
The Siemens 3RT2015-1BM41 is a SIRIUS-brand power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame, designed for switching motor loads and resistive circuits in control panels. It carries a 24 VDC coil with screw-type terminals and is rated for 10 A at 24 VDC and 3 A at 400 VAC, making it suitable for smaller motor starters and auxiliary circuits. The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and its mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when panel layout forces an unconventional orientation.
Ratings and Duty Cycles
Switching frequency varies by duty: up to 1,000 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750/h at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also supports 750/h. These limits govern thermal rise in the contactor — exceeding them in a high-duty application risks accelerated wear. The main contacts are rated for 20 to 12 A, and the contactor carries a typical mechanical life of 30,000,000 operations. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms, with DC coil dropout timing of 7 to 13 ms. Rated operational voltage is 220 V, with an initial value factor of 0.8 and a full-scale factor of 1.1.
Wiring and Clearance
Screw-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capacity: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². This covers common control wiring sizes for panel builders. Minimum clearance distances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the side. These ensure adequate air gap for arc quenching and heat dissipation when multiple contactors are ganged on a DIN rail.
Environmental and Lifecycle
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The contactor includes an auxiliary switch (1 N/O + 1 N/C typical for this frame) for feedback or interlocking.
