What this part is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT2015-1BP41 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the Size S00 frame — the smallest footprint in the SIRIUS line, 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, 73 mm deep. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with screw and snap-on fastening. The coil is rated 230 V AC, terminated at screw-type terminals. An auxiliary switch is built in, saving a slot on the rail. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range -55 to +80 °C. Mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, and ±22.5° tilt forward or backward — useful when you're squeezing this into a crowded gland plate.
Duty cycle and switching frequency
This contactor is rated for different switching frequencies depending on the duty category: 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive loads), 750 cycles/hour at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 cycles/hour at AC-4 (plugging, inching). The AC-3e rating also holds at 750 cycles/hour. For a conveyor or pump running standard motor starts, the 750 c/h figure is the one that governs real panel life.
Auxiliary contact ratings
The built-in auxiliary switch is rated for 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. That covers the common control voltages in a panel — 24 VDC for PLC outputs, 110/125 V for legacy relay logic, and 400 V for direct switching of small loads.
Wiring and clearances
Solid wire range is 0.5 to 4 mm²; stranded wire also 0.5 to 4 mm². For two conductors in parallel, the range is 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². Minimum clearance around the contactor: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm to the side. That 6 mm side clearance is tight — plan your DIN rail layout so adjacent devices don't crowd the arc chamber.
