What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT2015-1QB41 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in the compact Size S00 frame. It is designed to switch loads in control panels, typically motor circuits or resistive loads, where a 24 V DC coil signal from a PLC or safety relay needs to drive a power circuit. The screw-type terminals on the magnet coil accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², matching standard panel wiring practice.
Key ratings and what they mean for fit
The coil is rated 24 V DC nominal. At that rated value the main contacts carry 10 A — that is the continuous current the contactor can handle in its primary duty. For DC switching at other voltages, the rating drops: 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. The AC-3 maximum operating rate is 750 cycles per hour, which covers most motor-starting applications without excessive wear. Mechanical life is rated at 30 million cycles typical, so the contactor outlasts most panel refreshes. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C — fine for unheated enclosures as long as the enclosure ambient stays within the operating band.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The Size S00 footprint is 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, 117 mm deep — a space-efficient block that leaves room for auxiliary contact blocks or a separate overload relay on the same rail. Mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by ±22.5° on a vertical surface. Clearances: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm at the sides.
