What It Is and Where It Fits
The Siemens 3RT2015-2AP62 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S00 frame size, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. It uses a 24 VDC coil and spring-type terminals for the magnet coil, with screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The S00 frame keeps it compact — 45 mm wide, 70 mm tall, 73 mm deep — so it fits tightly on the DIN rail without crowding adjacent devices.
What the Ratings Mean for Your Panel
The 24 VDC coil holds at nominal voltage and drops out reliably below the pickup threshold — no exceptions. Spring-type terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², and up to 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) for paralleled feeds, so you can land the power wiring without ring lugs or ferruled ends if the wire is solid. The contactor is rated for AC-3 switching duty at up to 750 operating cycles per hour, and AC-4 (inching/jogging) at 250 cycles per hour — the AC-4 figure is the one that governs if your application does frequent plugging or reversing. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range extends to -55 to +80 °C, which is the handling limit, not the running limit.
Mounting and Clearances
Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and the contactor can be tilted forward and backward by +/-22.5° — useful when the DIN rail sits at an angle in a tight enclosure. Minimum clearances to adjacent devices: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the sides. That 6 mm side clearance is tight; if you're stacking contactors side-by-side without a gap, you'll need to check the heat dissipation for continuous duty. The fastening method is screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail — no adapter plate required.
