What it is and where it lands
The Siemens 3RT2015-2AV02 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame, built for switching motor loads and resistive circuits in industrial control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto standard 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, so it drops into a panel with no adapter plate needed. The coil is 24 V DC, rated at 10 A — that's the hold current at nominal voltage, not the switching current. Spring-type terminals on the magnet coil mean no tool needed for the control wiring; the main contacts use screw terminals accepting 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded.
Size S00 — what the footprint buys you
At 45 mm wide, 70 mm tall, and 73 mm deep, this contactor fits the standard S00 envelope — the same footprint as the 3RT2015-2AP02 and -2AP01 siblings. The mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5° on vertical mounting, which helps in tight enclosures or angled gland plates. Clearance spacing is modest: 10 mm upwards and forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side. That keeps the panel fill factor reasonable even with several contactors ganged on the same DIN rail.
Switching duty and auxiliary contact
Rated for AC-1 (resistive) at 1,000 operations per hour maximum, AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting) at 750 ops/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) at 250 ops/h. The auxiliary switch is built in — no add-on block needed for basic feedback or interlocking. Arcing time runs 10 to 15 ms at AC, and the contactor's typical mechanical life is 30 million operations — that's the mechanical endurance, not the electrical life under load, which will be lower depending on the switching category.
Environmental range and wiring
Operates from -25 to +60 °C ambient; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The main contact terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) solid or stranded — fine for panel wiring with standard ferrules.
