The Siemens 3RT2015-2VB42 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in size S00, designed for switching DC loads in control panels. The 24 V DC coil picks up at 85 % of rated voltage (20.4 V) and drops out at 185 % (44.4 V) — the wide dropout margin keeps it latched through brief sags but releases cleanly on a sustained undervoltage.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width and 70 mm height fit tightly in a crowded enclosure; allow 10 mm clearance above and below, 6 mm at the sides for airflow and tool access. Spring-type terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded wire — no screw torque to verify, just strip to 8 mm and push in.
Switching capability and duty cycle
Rated 10 A at 24 V DC for the main contacts, with arcing time of 10 to 15 ms. Switching frequency depends on load category: 1 000 operations/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750/h at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). For DC loads, the 24 V DC rating is the one that governs — the 48 V and 60 V ratings drop to 2 A, and at 400 V DC it is 3 A. The contactor is rated for 30 million mechanical operations typical, so it outlasts most panel cycles.
