It carries a 400 VAC coil rated at 50 Hz and 440 VAC at 60 Hz, so the coil circuit must match the line frequency — a 50 Hz coil on a 60 Hz supply will pull in but may hum or overheat, and vice versa. The contactor includes a built-in auxiliary switch (1 N/O + 1 N/C typical for this order-code suffix), saving a separate aux block on the DIN rail.
Dimensions are 58 mm high, 45 mm wide, 73 mm deep — the S00 footprint is the smallest Siemens contactor frame, so it fits tightly in a crowded panel.
Switching performance and ratings
Rated for AC-1 resistive loads at up to 1,000 switching cycles per hour, AC-2 and AC-3 motor loads at 750 cycles/hour, and AC-4 (plugging / inching) at 250 cycles/hour. The AC-3e rating (enhanced) also holds 750 cycles/hour. Arcing time spans 10–15 ms, with a make time of 4–15 ms. The auxiliary contacts are rated for a range of voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 0.14 A at 440 V, 4.8 A at 480 V, and 2 A at 500 V — so the aux contacts can handle pilot-duty loads across common control voltages, but the 0.14 A at 440 V is a derated point worth noting if you're switching an indicator lamp at that voltage.
Coil holding power draws 0.24 VA at 50 Hz and 0.25 VA at 60 Hz, negligible for the control transformer budget. The magnet coil connection uses a ring cable lug, so terminate with the correct ring terminal size — don't just strip and clamp.
No successor has been announced, so the 3RT2015-4AR62 is the part to specify for new builds and MRO spares.
